The Museu Casa do Pontal presented the 10th edition in the series "Thematic Seminars on Folk Art and Culture", on 17 and 18 August 2012 with the theme "The Artistic and the Sacred." This edition will open a dialog with the temporary exhibit " Farnese de Andrade e os ex-votos: Liturgias Contemporâneas " at the Museu Casa do Pontal. The transposition of objects and cultural events between the worlds of art and religion, will be discussed from different perspectives presented by art critics, artists, anthropologists and researchers of popular culture.

10:30 - "Art in space and religious ceremonies" with Raul Lody (anthropologist)
14h - "Music, celebration and devotion in Brazilian folk culture" with Frei Chico (musician and researcher of popular culture)

August 18 (Saturday)
11:00 - "Art in Transition" with Paulo Sérgio Duarte (art critic) and mediated by Angela Mascelani (anthropologist)
13h - Presentation of the catalog for the exhibit: " Farnese de Andrade e os ex-votos: Liturgias Contemporâneas "
14h - Workshop with the Opavivará! artists collective
