Rita Ferreira

Rita Gomes Ferreira was born on 26 June 1959 in Coqueiro Campo, Minas Novas, Minas Gerais State. She learned to work with clay when 11 years old or so. When she was older she moved to another town and only resumed her work with clay in 2000, then 39 years old, when she returned to Coqueiro Campo. She returned to this work making small figures, such as chickens and flowers, but now is already producing figures, which she says are more difficult to do.
