This is an Afro-Brazilian dance with traditional characteristics, accompanied by strong percussion, where song is fundamental. Jongo songs are improvised and, by repeating the verses, a unique rhythm is created that delights participants and onlookers alike. The songs are also known as caxambu, tambu or tambor.
